Il capitale semantico: la sua natura, il suo valore e la sua “curation”

A partire dal concetto di capitale semantico, come qualsiasi contenuto che può aumentare il potere di qualcuno di semanticizzare qualcosa, l’autore riflette sullo sviluppo tecnologico come motore di nuove opportunità e nuove sfide. Le tecnologie digitali non fanno eccezione: portano con sé un potere enorme di produzione di senso ma al tempo stesso esacerbano i rischi connessi all’utilizzo del capitale semantico. Sebbene esso possa apparire sfuggente, rappresenta l’humus delle nostre vite: è la condizione trascendentale definitiva perché rende possibile le forme di vita della mente, compresi gli sviluppi sociali, politici ed economici.
Starting from the concept of semantic capital, considered as any content that can increase someone’s power to semanticize something, the Author reflects upon the technological development as a driver of new opportunities and new challenges. Digital technologies are no exception, as they bring with them an enormous power in sense production, but at the same time exacerbate the risks associated with the use of semantic capital. Although it may appear elusive, it represents the humus of our lives: it is, in fact, the ultimate transcendental condition because it makes possible the life forms of the mind, including social, political and economical developments.
